The Festival d’Automne à Paris, or the Autumn Paris Festival, is a festival held annually to celebrate all forms of contemporary arts and dance. This Paris Festival embraces all different art forms together and regularly attracts big crowds in excess of 100,000. The festival is held annually between September and December and features over 40 events which captivate and entertain audiences. The works presented at the Autumn Paris Festival show original approaches of an experimental nature and are a testament to contemporary art in the modern era.

Founded in 1972 by Michel Guy, the Festival d’Automne à Paris received support from the infamous former President of the French Republic, Georges Pompidou. Ever since then the Festival d’Automne à Paris has been a regular event in Paris and is looked forward to in excitement from all that attend. Following Michel Guys unfortunate death in 1990, Alain Crombecque became the Director of the Festival with Marie Collin and Joséphine Markovits as artistic directors. Pierre Richard is the current Chairman of the Board of the Festival, and Pierre Bergé is Chairman of the Board of “Les Amis du Festival d’Automne à Paris”.

The Paris Autumn festival is a non profit organisation and is funded with the support of the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, along with the Paris City Council, the Regional Council of Greater Paris, Friends and Sponsors.

The Festival d’Automne à Paris is a triumph to contemporary art in the modern era and an excellent stage to show cast art in Paris. The Paris Autumn Festival is an enjoyable day out and a must while visiting Paris!
